For this recipe you need a Camembert cheese in a wooden box - though I guess you could improvise. I use one called Le Rustique which I think is quite good and is widely available in UK and NL.

Ingredients

Camembert in its wooden box
clove garlic
few drops of white wine, sherry or brandy
to serve - fresh baguette, cornichons

Method

  1. Take the cheese out of its paper wrapper and return to box. Smear the cheese with the cut halves of garlic to give a hint of garlic flavour. Spike the cheese in half a dozen places and dribble a few drops white wine (or other booze) into the holes - you don't want to overdo this.
  2. Bake in a preheated 200℃ oven for 25-30 minutes till cheese is hot and bubbling
  3. Serve in the box and eat like a fondu - dipping bits of bread, cornichons or whatever takes your fancy into it.
