:300g plain flour, or 250g plain flour &amp;amp; 50g cornflour&lt;br /&gt;
:200g unsalted butter&lt;br /&gt;
:150g icing sugar or basterdsuiker &lt;br /&gt;
:&amp;#039;&amp;#039;optional&amp;#039;&amp;#039; slivered almonds&lt;br /&gt;
:&amp;#039;&amp;#039;optional&amp;#039;&amp;#039; egg wash of egg beaten with a tsp of milk&lt;br /&gt;

==Method==&lt;br /&gt;
# Mix the flour, sugar and butter together to form a stiff dough. Roll out the dough and a floured worktop to approx 5mm thickness.  Cut out biscuits using a cookie cutter.  For kerstkrantsjes cut out circles and remove the centre with a small circular cutter to form a broad ring. Optionally sprinkle slivered almonds on each biscuit glaze with egg wash. Bake 15-20 minutes in a 175℃ oven.  Cool on calling racks.&lt;br /&gt;
