==Method==&lt;br /&gt;
#Peel the potatoes and place in saucepan with lid or casserole dish that can go on stove.  Add sufficient water to partially cover potatoes - they dont want to under water or too dry - so about half to three-quarters covered.  Add salt to taste.  Cover the potatoes with the curly kale - washed and chopped finely if it wasn&amp;#039;t bought preprepared.  Put on heat and bring to boil - then turn down heat to low and cover with lid.  Cook for 20-30 minutes till potatoes and kale are tender.&lt;br /&gt;
#Meanwhile cook the sausage per instructions - or if none, place in pan of cold water, and bring to a barely rippling simmer for 20-25 minutes.&lt;br /&gt;
#When the potatoes and kale are done, mash them together - in NL they have specially made aardappelstampers (potato stampers) designed for this purpose.&lt;br /&gt;
#Serve with the hot sausage and gravy&lt;br /&gt;
