This is a recipe that can be for mushroom marsala or chicken marsala or whatever marsala you facy.  The exact quantities of the ingredients is not critical so adapt to mood and inclination.&lt;br /&gt;

==Ingredients==&lt;br /&gt;
:About 250g of mushrooms&lt;br /&gt;
:1 large onion, finely chopped&lt;br /&gt;
:2 cloves garlic&lt;br /&gt;
:an inch of ginger&lt;br /&gt;
:2 large tomatoes roughly chopped&lt;br /&gt;
:About 12 cashew nuts ground into a powder or maybe powdered almonds&lt;br /&gt;
:1 tsp garam masala&lt;br /&gt;
:1 tsp ground coriander&lt;br /&gt;
:salt&lt;br /&gt;
:3/4 tsp chili powder&lt;br /&gt;
:oil for frying&lt;br /&gt;
:bay leaf (optional)&lt;br /&gt;
:small bit of cinnamon (optional)&lt;br /&gt;
:Few fengreek leaves or seeds (optional)&lt;br /&gt;
:3 green cardomoms (optional)&lt;br /&gt;
:chopped coriander (optional)&lt;br /&gt;
:2 tbsp cream (optional)&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
==Method==&lt;br /&gt;
#Put onions, tomatoes, ginger, garlic and cashew nuts into a blender and make a fine paste - as smooth as possible&lt;br /&gt;
#Heat oil and add cardomoms, cinnamon and bay leaf then pour in onion etc mix and cook covered until the mixture thickens. Stir often&lt;br /&gt;
#Add chili powder, coriander powder and garam masala and saute on a low heat&lt;br /&gt;
#Add sliced mushrooms and salt and saute for 2 or 3 minutes (should all be quite dry at this stage)&lt;br /&gt;
#pour in a little bit of water to make a thick gravy and cook until mushrooms are ready. Turn heat off&lt;br /&gt;
#Srinkle on fenugreek, cream and coriander if using&lt;br /&gt;
#Serve with Indian bread or basmati rice&lt;br /&gt;
